About the business
CATWEST is a Geraldton Asphalt and Traffic Management company based in Narngulu. We are currently looking for reliable, motivated and suitably-qualified traffic controllers to support and lead our growing traffic management crews.

About the role
Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Loading and unloading vehicles with signage and other traffic management devices
  • Completing Daily Diary sheets, ensuring that all variations, modifications or adjustments to a traffic management scheme are fully recorded and authorised
  • Leading the set up and pack down of the traffic management scheme in accordance with either a generic or site specific Traffic Management Plan (TMP) and Traffic Guidance Scheme (TGS)
  • Completing SWMS and implementing control measures to suit the site conditions
  • Conducting regular site checks and monitoring traffic behaviour/flow to ensure safety is maintained at all times
  • Carrying out directives from both internal and external authorities (i.e. CATWEST supervisors and line managers &/or road authority representative) in an orderly and efficient manner
  • Recording and reporting of any incidents in accordance with company policies
  • Driving and towing (inc. extended reversing with an arrow board or VMB)
  • Care and maintenance of CATWEST vehicles, signage and equipment

Job Requirements:

Skills and experience
Essential
  • C-class (manual) driver's licence
  • White Card
  • BWTM/TC
  • Minimum 3yrs traffic management experience (leading hands to have at least 1yr experience in a leadership or supervisory role)
  • Ability to form and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Flexibility is a must, with weekend and nightshift availability, as well as a willingness to travel to remote locations
  • Must be physically fit for work and available at short notice

Desirable
  • WTM / AWTM
  • Prior exposure to roadworks (asphalt &/or bituminous surfacing) highly regarded
