Job Description:

ATC Worksmart - Midwest is inviting applications from suitable candidates who meet the essential selection criteria for the position of Metal Fabrication Apprentice – Junior Year 1.

The successful applicant will commence a 4 Year Metal Fabrication (Boilermaker) Apprenticeship with ATC and will commence on-the-job training for a local Host Employer. You will be based in Geraldton but may have to travel throughout the Midwest Region to complete client orders. This work can be physically demanding therefore you will need to demonstrate an interest in the industry, it is essential you hold a current driver's license, can obtain a Police clearance and are happy to undertake Drug and Alcohol screening. This is a busy workshop so the ability to communicate well with your team and multi-task while still producing good quality work is essential. Your duties will include but are not limited too;

• The construction, servicing and repairs of transport and earthmoving plant equipment

• The pressing, rolling, welding and fabrication of Metals

• Use of industrial-grade power tools

• Demonstration of all Workplace OHS & WHS Standards

Job Requirements:

Essential Selection Requirements for the position:

• Applicant has completed or has made significant progress toward completion of a TAFE qualification related to the Metals Industry at Cert 2 level
• Applicant has achieved passes in English and Maths at Year 10 or above

• Applicant is eligible to enter into an Apprenticeship Training Contract with ATC Work Smart - Midwest commencing as a Junior Employee (as per Div 2 of the Fair Work Act)

• Applicant is able to demonstrate an interest or connection with this trade through subjects undertaken at school or through life experience to date

• Must be able to pass Drug and Alcohol Screen and obtain a police clearance (if required)

• Must have or be close to obtaining your Driver’s License
